Portencross to Dunoon via Hunstanton, Fairlie, Largs, Skelmorlie, Inverkip, Gourock.
Mainly tarmac cycleway and roadside path to Largs. Up hill for lanes parallel to main road below before returning down for more main road to Inverkip and Gourock. Ferry across to Dunoon.
Ayrshire Coastal Path
Brief waterside walk to Hunstanton Power Station with quiet road back towards Fairlie. Pick up a cycleway alongside the main road and around the walled seafront at Fairlie and onto wealthy Largs (compulsory ice cream stop). Up and out of the town inland to avoid the main road and following the lanes parallel above. Back down and on to Gourock for the Clyde / Argyll Ferry over to Hunters Quay, Dunoon. Far too much tarmac today. Hard on the feet.
