Walmer Bridge to St Anne's via Longton, Penwortham, Preston, Freckleton, Warton, Lytham.
20 miles of roadside walk around the Ribble Estuary - mostly pavement. A small stretch of promenade at Lytham, one mile of beach to end.
Lancashire Coastal Way - from Freckleton
Too much road walking makes this a dull day. Livened by a walk through Preston. Some of the Lancs Coastal Way routes seem a bit pointless ducking away from the road only to rejoin it after a quick visit to the mudflats / marshes and only a short distance down the road.
