A day of hidden woodland valleys and slippery descents. More climbing than expected as forestry tracks along The Hobby Drive mask the landscape.
SW Coast Path
The village of Clovelly demands an entrance fee to visit but the coast path skirts free around the top of the village. Sadly the views are restricted due to woodland cover. I suspect that my GPS height data was corrupted by the tree canopy. But still expect plenty of ascent - around 5,000ft over the day. Watch one or two of the slippery descents - I found one impossible to get down on foot and slid down on my backside.
