Portreath to Newquay via Porthlowan, St Agnes Head, Cligga Head, Perran Sands, Holywell, Pentire.
Cliff top mining landscape with lovely beaches towards the end and a tidal footbridge at Pentire. A brief town walk finishes the day.
SW Coast Path
Spectacular mineralisation around Cligga Head but the area can be perceived as a bit bleak. Perran Sands gorgeous but beware of managing times for the tidal footbridge at the end. Great variety and stunning views. The terrain is not overly tough but with over 4,500 ft of ascent and over 22.5 miles this is a very hard day overall. Another one of my top 20.
My Rank: *****
