Seatown to Branscombe via Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Seaton and Beer. 3*

Seatown to Branscombe via Charmouth, Lyme Regis, Seaton and Beer.
Some lovely cliff top walking spoilt by too many diversions onto roads to avoid dangerous and fallen cliffs. I was diverted around Charmouth completely and again West of Lyme Regis.
Trail: SW Coast Path
A lovely walk up Golden Cap with a steep descent into Charmouth I feel that this route would score much better in summer months and it offers a great opportunity to hunt for fossils at Charmouth if you can get onto the foreshore (the cliffs are dangerous and there is no need to dig into the muddy cliff face as plenty of fossils can be found around the tide line). This route follows inladn diversions along lanes, roads and across a golf course into Lyme Regis. Another 5 miles of road diversion West of Lyme Regis also damaged my mood. Only the chalky cliffs to Beer and Branscombe at the end of the day brightened a route spoilt by recent storm damage and hopefully the path is now repaired though I suspect the Charmouth section might remain unchanged. Highlights: Golden Cap & Lyme Regis
My Rating: ***
