This is the first half of my 2-day trip from Barmouth to Snowdonia.
difficult
Distance 18 km
The walk starts from Morfa Mawddach Train Station, an easy section along A493 up to a bus station where you take a hidden path to Arthog Waterfalls. Then you will walk towards the Lake Llynnau Cregennen. You might want a little break there, enjoy the beautiful scene at the lake. After the short break, walking about 1km from the lake, you will start to climb, towards the Peak Cadair Idris. Then it is a steep walk to the YHA; it is about 5km from the Peak to the hostel and the height drops around 750m along the way.
Enjoy your dinner at the YHA and have a sound sleep. That makes your sweaty first day.
