Belchen round tour
The demanding tour, which requires sufficient fitness and surefootedness, is ideal for nature lovers. The Belchen is home to a variety of rare plants and animals, and it is not for nothing that the summit is considered one of the most beautiful panoramic mountains in the Black Forest: with good visibility, the panoramic view ranges from the Rhine plain, the Jura and the Vosges to the Alps with the Zugspitze and Mont Blanc. While the summit attracts numerous hikers in summer with its hiking trails and themed paths, families in particular enjoy the extensive range of winter sports on offer in winter. There is an exciting myth surrounding the „King of the Black Forest“, as the Belchen is often called: it is said that the Belchen, together with its four namesakes in the triangle where Germany – France – Switzerland meet, served as a gigantic solar calendar for Celtic druids as early as the second century BC. It is believed that the Celts used the geographical references of the five peaks
