Once filled with tea and cheese, we headed out towards the river for a lovely gentle stroll. Our destination – Lake Tegernsee.

From the cheese factory we crossed over the road and followed the river Weissach to Egern. We passed through some very pretty Bavarian villages. The river was crystal clear, so much so that you could see every stone on the river bed. We passed by an otter’s dam – the first that I have ever seen that was not in a zoo.
The town of Egern is very picturesque. It is situated right on the lakeside. The spire of the Catholic parish church stands up on the skyline. It is worth taking a short detour to look around the grounds and in the church. It is beautiful.
