TMB Clockwise Day 3 Wed 29/7/20

Go back left out of the Hotel Sunways and about 50m past Gite Bon Abri there is a path on the left to take Champex d'en haut to La Fouly section, looks like there could be some bus shortcuts here. This goes upt to the forest East. When hit the trac in the forest turn left contouring through the forest to the main valley road continue down the road past the La Breya chairlift into Champex.

Should be an easy valley walk. AT SE end of lake minor road on left signed "Fort d'artillerie", after 200m cross an open area on right to join service road near Hotel Belvedere. Turn right and soon on a track then footpath that winds above the main road mostly in trees. Reach road near left hand bend and cross over to signed TMB shared by Sentier des Champignons for the descent. Now undulate through forest, TMB should be waymarked or obvious. 45 mins from start cut into stram and cross footbridge and return to track at haripin bend. Walk down track and at next hairpin signed path descends steeply emerging from woods. Come onto track, cross stream and walk down to main road 100m North of Issert (has a cafe).

Turn left in middle of Issert and cross river. Follow narrow road/track which swings right up valley in meadows. Hair pin leaft then immediately haripin right on path up valley rejoins track to Les Arlaches and Praz-de-Fort (refreshments/grocery). Entering village turn right on main road, cross river then second turning on left signed "Cabane de Saleinaz". Follow TMB markers through village crossing river Saleinaz (2nd crossing). The tarmac lane becomes a dirt road and when see a bridge on left Go straight on and follow the river Ferret. As this path ends aboout 200m afeter Lavari building cut up right to the path (about 50m) and follow this left.

Path maintains direction keeping on right side of river. Keep on this side of river past the bridge rising again. 9mins from the bridge a side route cuts off to Prayon on the left (don't take). Keep ahead through forest and meadow before reverting to track. When it forks (one branch sharp right) keep straight a head into forest coming to a metalled road bearing left. 120m later cross river at sluice gate. Over this go up slope among larch trees then turn right opposite Grand Hotel du Val Ferret and walk into La Fouly. (supermarket, restaurants, hotels). Auberge  Maya-Joie is through the village. Take the left fork and it is up on the right.

Bus to La Fouly goes frfom Orsiéres. Either line B271 from Champex to Orsiéres then line B272 or walk down to Som-La-Proz to take line B272 from there (20 min bus journey).  Bus times 2019 NEED UPDATING 11:30 or 16:35 from Som-La-Proz
