A good strenuous route from the Wilderness Camp near Rathgormack.
Distance 13.4 km
Parking at the car park near the Wilderness Camp walk towards the Boolas on the waymarked route. Before you reach the Boolas lakes turn west to the Gap and on to Coumdoula. Ascend the steep slope beside Coumdoula to the Knockanaffrin ridge. Follow the ridge southeast and descend back to the Gap. Climb the steep slope up Carraignagower to Coum Iarthar. Skirt the edge of the coom (corrie) and descend to the Boolas lakes. Follow the waymarked route back to the Wilderness Camp.
