If there are any stretches of road walking and if there is no pavement or grass verge, please take extra care. The general rule is that you walk on the same side of the road as oncoming traffic, in order to avoid having your back directly to oncoming traffic. Be prepared to walk in single file and to stay as close to the side of the road as possible.
There may be sections where you will be walking through fields containing livestock. Be vigilant and respectful of all animals.
A couple of streams will need to be negotiated depending on the weather, as the river is prone to flooding. You will need to come prepared for this.
We recommend buying the OL17 Ordnance Survey Map - Snowdon and Conwy Valley if you wish to carry a hard copy map.

If you wish to eat and drink en route, there is a cafe in Nant Gwynant, described as a "Point of Interest". Make sure to check for up to date opening times. Alternately you can buy a picnic lunch in Betws-y-Coed before taking the bus to the beginning of the walk.

Such is the way of British hiking that you need to be prepared for all seasons and weathers; sturdy hiking boots, warm clothes and a waterproof/wind-break layer are all required, as is plenty of sun cream and a healthy respect for the sun.
Walking poles may be helpful on some of the ascents and descents.
Ensure your phone is fully charged; if you doubt the battery will last throughout the hike, it might be beneficial to bring a power bank.
