Bjla cepika is one of ten Cherry Blossom Trails, which are named after old Brda cherry varieties. The trails are marked by brown signposts, yellow and white circles and yellow arrows on roads, rocks and trees.
This dynamic trail is one of the longer ones, covering the south-western part of Brda and going through the villages of Dobrovo, Fojana, Barbana, Plešivo, Ceglo and Medana.
Dobrovo is known for its Renaissance castle and Klet Brda winery, the largest Slovenian winery. The village of Fojana has two churches, St. Florian's and Holy Spirit on the Lake. According to oral traditions, there is a cave or a lake beneath the latter. In fact, the entire slope has been sliding, which is why the bell tower is leaning slightly. In the small village of Barbana, the Church of St. Mary's birth can be seen. Medana, a wine-growing village with a rich cultural tradition, is the birthplace of Alojz Gradnik, a poet, and Ludvik Zorzut, a cultural worker.

This trail goes over a stream, which cannot be crossed during heavy rain periods as the water level gets too high.Tips and hints
On this trail four drinking fountains can be found:
- two in Dobrovo (one at the playground by the Dobrovo castle and one at the of the parking lot opposite the Klet Brda wine cellar),
- one in Fojana (on the square in front of st. Florian's church) and
- one in Medana (in front of the church).
A trip through Brda is not complete without trying some of our delicious seasonal dishes and excellent products. Seize the opportunity and try some of our local wines, olive oil, honey and spirits!
Selected winemakers, olive oil, honey and spirits producers offer tastings of their products without prior arrangement, some of them also guided cellar tours. The producers will be more than happy to share with you interesting facts about the production and our territory.

Turn-by-turn directions
The trail starts at the Dobrovo castle and passes the Klet Brda winery. Turning left at the bridge over reka Reka, walk along the river until you reach the bridge under Fojana. A climb towards Fojana follows. Afterwards, the trail flattens out, leading us to the village of Fojana. The trail continues to the village of Barbana, past the Church of Mary's Birth. The trail then descends into the valley of the Fedrih stream and then ascends to Plešivo. The main road leads you to Ceglo and then into the valley of the Oblanč stream. After a brief hike along the stream and the main road, start climbing towards Medana. Then, we head back to our starting point in Dobrovo, passing by the highest point on the trail, "Na vrhu".
