Kluane National Park and Reserve
Distance 3.7 km
Steep at bottom and top third and less steep in middle. Steep and scrambly in sections. Sometimes hard to navigate. Stay close to the left side of the ridge on the way up. It’s cliffs on the right side. Watch for bears. Great views of Kluane Lake, Slims River and mountains all around. Takes about three hours up and the same down. At the 1040 m elevation the trail meets another trail that comes from Soldiers Summit. I have posted that trail. Don’t mix them up on the way back down.
This is a type 2.1 scramble rating I would think.
Safety informationBe careful as slopes are scree and fairly steep in sections. Need to be prepared for bad weather that can come quickly in these mountains. Carry bear spray. Carry lots of water.
Tips and hintsIt’s a grunt getting up and you have to be careful coming down. If you take your time and are prepared it’s safe enough
