A nice hike on forest trails for the majority of the walk to the highest point in county Clare.
Distance 10.3 km
Parking in Ballycuggaran Forest car park, a forest trail leads most of the way to the summit. A steep ascent at the top brings you to a boardwalk which can be followed along to the summit. This mountain has two equal high points so if you would like to take in both you must leave the comfort of the boardwalk and cross 200 metres of bog and then back again. Great views over Lough Derg.
