A relatively easy, short, flat trail leading to a panoramic view of one of the valleys of Sequoia National Park
easy
Distance 1.4 km
The trail passes through wooded terrain and leads to a huge and impressive rock that offers a wonderful view of one of the surrounding valleys. The path leading to the rock is beautiful and partly runs along a small stream. Arriving at the giant rock, it almost feels like you are on the moon.
This is an easy walk that is especially recommendable during the evening hours - as the name suggests, this is the ideal place to watch the sunset. This walk can be combined with the "Big Trees Trail" next door.
Due to the terrain's nature, this walk is not suitable for prams but suitable for families with older children. The trail is not accessible for wheelchairs.
Author’s recommendation
Sunset is the perfect time to do this route - the atmosphere is just breathtaking. However, return early enough to finish the route before the dark.
