Trek to the top of Breidtinden and stand on top of Senja’s highest mountain, 1,001 meters above sea level. Find 360 degree views of Senja including Barden and Segla.
Due to the difficulty of this trail, which includes some climbing and exposure along the ridge towards the top, avoid this adventure unless you’re an experienced hiker and do not have a fear of heights.
With Breidtinden’s altitude, the top can often be clouded over, so check the weather forecast before setting out. Do not hike the trail in bad weather.
The area around Breitindvatnet lake is well suited for camping, perfect for an early morning attack on the peak.
Hamn i Senja, Skagi Senja and Mefjord Brygge all offer hotel rooms as well as apartments with self-catering possibilities. Each has a restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and a bar.
