Starting next to the primary School in Seghill the route goes to the large spoon sculpture, then past the Shroud to New Hartley where there is a garden remembering the Victorian mining disaster.

Starting near to the Seghill Primary School the route goes to the large steel sculpture of the spoon then on to the other sculpture of the Shroud. It then goes on to New Hartley where there was a major pit disaster in Victorian times. The garden of remembrance at the old pit shaft entrance is worth a visit. The route returns along The Avenue then via Seaton Delaval, past the church and over the railway line and back to the starting point.
