Löwenpfad "Spielburg-Runde" - Around the Hohenstaufen mountain
The Löwenpfad trail "Spielburg-Runde" in Göppingen is a hiking loop trail certified by the German Hiking Association. The 3.5-kilometer tour starts at the hikers’ car park at the sports field in Hohenstaufen and is particularly suitable for a leisurely walk with the whole family and offers great views. The path runs along the Herbweg around Göppingen's local mountain and over the promising rock formation "Spielburg". This round is only partially suitable for wheelchair users, as there are two slightly steeper sections. An alternative route with little incline is signposted as an option.
Over and over you pass remnants of the Staufer history where you can get background information about the strong and world-famous Staufer family.
