Between Rathen and Porschdorf

In the shadow of the Bastei, we hike off the beaten track from Rathen through the picturesque Grünbachtal valley past the Felsenbühne Rathen to Amselsee lake. Then we walk across the wooded plateau down into the idyllic Polenztal valley. A little later, a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding rocky landscape awaits us at the imposing Hohnstein Castle. Passing the Gautschgrotte, we hike on in the shady mixed forest to the Brand, one of the most famous viewing balconies in the entire Elbe Sandstone Mountains. From here it is not far until we reach our destination in Porschdorf.
