The Uplandsteig trail leads through charming forests to the historic Schwalenburg ring fortress.

This hike takes us north of Willingen through forest and across meadows. We overcome around 400 metres in altitude over a distance of 13 km. On the Burgring, those interested in cultural history will get their money's worth. Here you will find the remains of the Schwalenburg, a ring fortress from the early Middle Ages. From here you return to Willingen via Schwalefeld and the Christine visitor mine. There are several places to stop for refreshments.
