The shelter lies in a very panoramic position on the northern edge of the Pian dei Larici, alongside the upper chairlift station.Behind lie the imposing rock profiles of the Siera Spitz, the Piccolo Siera and the Cima Dieci.

This is one of the alternative routes to the shelter. Much shadier and less popular than the previous route, it snakes through centuries-old, silent fir trees until emerging, on the final stretch, on the “tourist” ski piste.The path is rather steep, especially the second part, but this is the perfect route for those who love being in close contact with nature and hearing the wonderful sounds of the inhabitants of the forest.

Turn-by-turn directions
Follow the previous route until the signs near the “national” piste.Here, take path 319, which climbs to the left, first passing under the chairlift and then, at a deserted plateau, ignore the trail to the south (sign for “rifugio Siera”) and continue west along the cart road.After passing under the chairlift a second time, carry on to the left along a path through the tall grass to just below a steep mule path.Continue up this path with steep, narrow hairpin bends until joining the "tourist" piste, which leads directly to the shelter.
The descent can be made by the same route or routes 4 or 6, which take the same amount of time.
