Terry Abraham says: “This is my favourite easygoing stroll on Blencathra, where you'll be more or less alone and enjoy aspects of the fell most people don't see. Beware of some steep and slick slopes of grass, often mixed with hidden boulders you can easily trip on and you'll get on just fine. Quite simply walk a while, sit down for some time and admire the scenery that surrounds you. This is a therapeutic way to enjoy the fell in most conditions and is a real soul cleanser for me.”
Brief route decription: "Head up from the Blencathra Field Centre to Blease Fell. At grid reference NY302259 you'll notice some old small quarrying in the fellside with an old worn track heading upwards. Follow this up onto the fellside where it levels out after a sheepfold and head to grid reference NY310263. From here there's a good view of the face of Blease Fell and Gategill Fell. Keep heading up and you'll reach the open fell at Knowe Crags, aka the summit of Blease Fell. From there you simply follow the main route back down to the field centre.
