An 11 mile Levada walk through Urban Funchal and out into the countryside west of the city. Not the most scenic in the urban areas but a good warm up walk for anyone staying in Funchal.

Walk starts from the Lido area of Funchal and wanders through urban areas on Funchal and off into a nearby valley. Very little climb but typical Levada walking challenges - especially at the far end of the walk - narrow tracks, some low height tunnels, areas with no barriers but some fantastic views.
If you do not have a head for heights the furthest 1 km end of this trail would not be good for you.
On the way back the walk goes back into Funchal following the Levada.
