Nature Experience Tour Fischbach near Dahn

We start at the Biosphärenhaus, which is located on the eastern outskirts of Fischbach. From the car park below the building, we walk past the Biosphärenhaus on the left. We reach the wide, flat valley of the Spießwoog and follow the signs for the "Wasgau Lakes Tour" to the left until we reach a fork. There we turn right and cross a small stream. At a wooden pavilion, turn right again over a wooden footbridge between two ponds. On the other bank, follow an asphalt path marked 32 to the left. It leads us to an access point for emergency vehicles (green sign with white cross). Turn left here and walk along the other side of the bank, still following the 32 mark, roughly in the direction from which you came. There is a triangle of paths where we turn right into the forest.

A long pond soon appears on our left. We follow the course of its banks and marker 32 to the next fork. Here we turn left, cross the small valley and continue hiking on the other side of the pond to the right on the path marked "Wasgau-Seen-Tour". Very soon, a small shelter appears on the bank of the pond. At the next fork in the path, continue left into the water conservation area on the Wasgau Lakes Tour. The path climbs slightly and leads to a farm track. Here we continue straight ahead. At the next junction, we walk downhill to the left. In front of us we can already see a wider asphalt path, but before we reach it, the route leads to the right onto a forest path. This is marked with the symbol of the Wasgau Lakes Tour, but it is still very easy to miss. We reach the said asphalt path about 500 metres later and follow it to the right. Here we continue straight ahead. We cross the Wolfsäger valley past a small pond and over a stream. We then go left for a short distance and very soon turn right on the asphalt path and now follow the 40 mark. Attention: Do not follow the Wasgau Lakes Tour here any more!

Soon we reach a fork to the left, which we follow slightly uphill. The trail is marked with the number 40. At the next fork, we turn right and go downhill. There is a fork where we turn left. Shortly afterwards we take another fork to the left and are now on the "Felsenland Sagenweg". We follow the Sagenweg to the road to Fischbach. Soon a side road turns off to the right (marked Felsenland Sagenweg). It leads us onto a path that takes us through meadows and bushes into a small forest. Here we turn right and cross a bridge over the Sauer. We follow the riverside path downstream past another bridge. (Here we find the marking "Wasgau-Seen-Tour" again, which we now follow to the starting point of our hiking tour). The path finally leads over a small wooden footbridge to the right onto an asphalt road. We follow this to the left, cross the country road and continue hiking through the meadow. A small wooden bridge leads us over a stream. The path goes up to the edge of the forest and then back down through the meadows to a bridge over a standing body of water. Along the Sauer we reach a wider path, which we follow to the left over a concrete bridge. Shortly afterwards, it joins the main road of Fischbach, which we follow to the right until we reach the biosphere house.
