The Old Rag Mountain hike in the Shenandoah National Park is one of the most popular hikes in the mid-Atlantic region. With many spectacular panoramic views, and one of the most challenging rock scrambles in the park, this circuit hike is a favorite of many hikers
Distance 13.6 km
Normally "advertised" as a 10 mile loop (including walk from parking to trailhead), but my track only shows just over 8 miles. It does include 2,500' eleveation gain, which matches my gps data. Interesting "scramble" over and through rock area. Easily done in 5 hours with time for lunch. Faster hikers can finish in 3 hours. Can be crowded, which can cause delays at some of the narrow passes, so weekdays are best.
