Blåvatnet is fairly one of the most beautiful lakes of Norway. It is situated on the western side of the Lyngen Alps. Inspiring tones of blue water in Blåvatnet are the sedimentation effect of silt units that are eroded on the sheer surrounding mountains.
There is a good easy trail that leads to the Blue Lake. It is suitable for people of all ages. During the whole way path is marked and you just need to follow the markers with the red tops. Only the last part includes hiking over rocks and scree. Consequently, everybody is able to do this hike and enjoy brilliant nature beauty.
Blåvatnet is an ideal place in order to get in touch with pure nature. Hiking through surrounding area gives unbelievable views of glaciers as well as it is perfect place to catch the northern lights! Blåvatnet is situated on the western side of the Lyngen Alps.
It is about 4 km east from Jægervatnet lake. When driving from Lyngseidet just turn off in the direction of Svensby. Then go towards Jægervatn and Sør-Lenangsbotn.
The way from Tromsø takes about 2.5 hours and it includes ferry from Breivikeidet to Svensby.
