The Folkestien in Dokka along the course of the Etna river is an easy and popular round trip of around 12km that is suitable for all ages. Along the route you will lots of information signs about the nature and the landscape and landmarks you will experience along the way. There are lots of benches placed along the route where you will be able sit and enjoy a coffee.
The route is accessible for wheel-chair users and close to Granngardshølen there is a wheel-chair accessible fishing site. You can drive and park at Granngardshøen from Brurud along fv33, and you can purchase a fishing licence card here.
The route has been made in partnership with Nasjonalforeningen Nordre Land helselag and Nordre Land municipality. The Dokka Delta Wetland Centre has contributed with the signs along the route with the themes nature, the river, log driving, fish and the railway.
Closest to Dokka centre you will find accommodation at Dokka Camping, Dokka motell og Ankalterud Gård. Further away from Dokka you will find accommodation at Haugtun (Aust-Torpa), Ullsaker Øvre Gjestegård (Vest-Torpa), Etna Familiecamping (Etnedal), Lyngstrand Camping and Totenåsen Sportell. There is also accommodation available at Spåtind Sport Hotel in Synnfjellet. You can rent a hotel room, or an apartment here and you will also find a cafe, a restaurant and a bar.

- Free parking at Dokka Station and Dokka renseanlegg.
- The route is wheelchair friendly.
- There are fishing possibilities along the route, and a fishing licence can be purchased from the box at Granngardshølen near Brurud.
- The Wetland Centre is open in summer with different activities each week. You can purchase coffee, waffles, hire canoes or fishing equipment and there is an exhibit which changes on a regular basis. Free toilets are available at the Wetland Centre during summer and close to Dokka Station.
Dokka Station in the centre of Dokka or Dokka renseanlegg are both great places to start this trip. If you only wish to walk a section of the route then it is possible to reach the trail close to Ekra/Brurud along fv33, parking close to the railway tracks.
