This route follows the western loop of the Winchcombe Way walking trail, except for a loop around a hill on the far northern end.
Distance 26.2 km
The Winchcombe Way is a 40 mile figure-of-eight walking path starting and ending in the pretty Cotswold town of Winchcombe. This route follows most of the western loop of the Way. There are some very good parts to it, but sadly the low level walking footpaths are rather overgrown, and definitely don't live up to the sections which take you over hills, up to Cleeve Common, and past Belas Knap Long Barrow. For a walk which misses out most of the low level section, follow the waymarked Gloucestershire Way between the two yellow flags.
