Full day tour along the Moselle, mostly on vineyard trails. Twice you cross a bridge to the other side of the Moselle.
Distance 22.7 km
Long hiking tour dedicated to the Roman heritage on the Moselle. Beautiful mix of nature and antiquity. It is not a circular walk, buses and - between May and October - also ships go back.Insights into the hiking tour:menhirs, slate caves, rock pulpit, Roman viticulture ... The Römersteig between Trittenheim and Minheim offers an excellent mix of nature and antiquity. Replicas of funerary monuments or a wine press in the "Piesporter Goldtröpfchen" vineyard tell the hiker about antiquity. Display boards invite the hiker to take a short informative break. The panoramic views from the "Römersteig" down into the Moselle valley are spectacular, while wine connoisseurs who are hungry for movement explore some of the best sites of the Middle Moselle.Refreshments in inns or wineries (Straußwirtschaften) can be found in the villages along the route.
In Neumagen-Dhron the "Stella Noviomagi", a wine ship - based on a Roman original - lies at anchor. Very nice to look at - trips can also be booked.
