A varied, mostly shady round tour from Sassalbo around the Passo del Cerreto with beautiful views of the Ligurian mountains

The Cerreto Pass tour was extended a few years ago as a thematic trail and equipped with information panels. Historically, noteworthy are the ice houses, in which ice was stored and formed during the winter (mainly for medical purposes) and in the summer it could then be transported overnight to prevent its quick melting. The climb follows old paths (partly asphalted) which have been traced with an easy slope (Mulattiera). The descent is steep, so be careful not to miss the trail markers.
