Itinerary Dr. Pierre Moes (local plants and animals, water mills) of 10 km.
The itinerary Pierre Moes is part of the Manternacher Fiels nature reserve and starts near the railway bridge on the Syr between Mertert and Manternach. The nature trail crosses an area characterised by two different landscapes: an impenetrable forest and the open plateau near Lellig. The characteristics of nature and landscape are presented on 17 panels.
Author’s recommendation
Manternach is still one of the municipalities in Luxembourg with the highest density of tall fruit trees. The fruit is still preserved today in the form of jams, apple juice or brandy and liqueur.
