A straightforward walk from the town centre, climbing up all the way through woodland until the ridge is reached.  The ridge is reasonably wide and not too scary for those who may suffer a bit when there are no visual reference points. Beautiful views all along the ridge both inland and out to sea over Deia.
There is a choice of return route and this is one of the longer ones.

NOTE: Access must be authorised prior to start of walk.

At the end of the ridge the walk joins the GR221 all the way back to Valldemossa.  When nearing Valldemossa there is a Y junction. Do not be tempted to take the track down to the left fork. The GR221 goes through a gate on the right fork.

Good Day There is an issue with erosion in the area caused by too many visitors, hence there is a section of Muntanya del Voltor that is under environmental restoration. The visitor numbers are therefore restricted and permission must be granted prior to arrival. I suggest you apply in good time. When I contacted them I gave them the date of arrival, the number of walkers and the exact route that we planned to follow and they were very helpful. Regards Stuart
