- Balconies and belvederes from which you can enjoy unobstructed views of the Rhône and the Alps. - Mont Monnet, at 782 metres, which is the most northerly exposed summit of the crest line of the Pilat massif. - dense forests, close to plateaus where the herds of “Rigotte de Condrieu goats” are reared and fed their habitat.
When and how to take advantage of it?
At dawn for the early risers: climb Mont Monnet and “breakfast” facing the rising sun and the Alps. From the top of Mont Monnet, with binoculars, have fun to decipher the landscapes to locate Mount Minister to the south-west, the inhabited lands of the Rhone Valley to the east and the Rhone ravines that cut into the plateau: Bassemon, Arbuel, Vernon and Vérin. On the horizon, on a clear day, many familiar mountain silhouettes stand out: Vercors, Mont Blanc, Ventoux...
May 1: stop at Condrieu for the Wines & Rigotte events and compose your picnic before going to trudge on the trails. Accompanied by a professional Pilat mountain guide to venture off the beaten track.
