Volandstind peaks at 457 meters above sea level, with views of Ramberg and Fredvang to the north and the Skjelfjord to the south. While the mountain looks intimidating from the roadside, an easy trail leads to the back of the mountain and up along a ridge to the summit.
The trail is not very exposed and is suitable for most people.
- The Skjelfjord was an important port of refuge for allied ships in World War Two during April and May of 1940
Tips and hints
- Parking (free)
The trail starts in Skjelfjord, a short drive south of Ramberg.
Driving south on the E10 from Ramberg, with Volandstind directly ahead, turn left towards Skjelfjord. Park by first building on the right-hand side, an orange building with cod drying racks across the road.
