«One of the most beautiful, easiest high altitude hikes of the Rätikon, specially recommended in June and the beginning of July (flowering season)» (W. Flaig). The superb location amidst the Liechtenstein Alps, the breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and the easy ascent turn the Schönberg into a popular hiking destination.
We follow the Sass trail from right below the Chapel of Peace to the Northeast, gaining first impressions of the magnificent nature of the mountains with their many flowers (floral preservation area). At the Sass-Fürkle we leave the roadway. To start with, we walk over pasture land, and then at the Eastern hillside of the Stachlerkopf on a partially marked mountain trail on to the flower-carpeted ridge in the South-West of the Schönberg. Descent on marked trails, either via Bärg to Malbun (Alternative A) or via Steg.
