Water sports providers, restaurants, cafés, etc. have settled here. The Scandinavian-style harbor of Zöbigker radiates a very special flair. The dune-like sandy beach on the northern shore is also known as the longest sandy beach in Saxony. In the south, the Bistumshöhe observation tower offers a fascinating view over the Neue Harth forest area. Lake Cospuden can be circumnavigated via an asphalted lakeside path.

Turn-by-turn directions
The circular hiking trail around Lake Cospuden starts at Kees'schen Park in Markkleeberg. Follow the Lauerschen Weg to the north of the lake. Cross the route of the Grüner Ring Leipzig and keep left on the asphalt path to continue the circular lake trail. At the fork of the Lauerschen Weg to the right, stay left again and continue to follow the lakeside path. The long, straight stretch on the west side of the lake finally leads you to the Bistumshöhe observation tower in the south of Lake Cospuden. A view over the lake is always worthwhile. To the south, you pass the bison enclosure and continue to follow the asphalted path until you arrive at the Zöbigker harbor. After a short climb, turn left there to get to the east shore trail. You will pass the Oststrand and the Seehaus Cospuden until you reach the Nordstrand and the starting point again on a long, straight stretch along the Ostuferweg.
