On this section you hike through the "Ellergronn" nature reserve and just barely miss the "Leiffrächen" nature reserve. The path also leads past the National Miners' Monument in Kayl. In both mining areas, nature has reclaimed the area, and where barren landscapes once dominated, dense forests and bird sanctuaries are now blooming.
There are plenty of forests here, and pure nature: the path also starts in the Gaalgebierg Park in Esch, known for its rose beds. At the Animal Park on the Gaalgebierg, which is just a short distance away, you can explore the animal world (the visit is free) and you can take a short break in the "Bamhauscafé". It is mystical on the "Leiffrächen", because the nature reserve is named after the pilgrimage site of the same name (the path leads past the chapel) of the patron saint of miners.
