Turn-by-turn directions
LAKESIDE PROMENADE - PODHOM - VINTGAR - ST CATHERINE ABOVE ZASIP - ZASIP - LAKESIDE PROMENADE
Start at the Lakeside Promenade and take Grajska cesta street until you reach the Bled Rose Hotel and from there walk through the Grad settlement until you reach the crossroads with Partizanska cesta street. Follow this road to the northern ring, cross it and take the local street until you reach the railway underpass before the village of Podhom. Walk through the village and take the steep uphill road until you reach the crossroads where you take a right turn; pass the Albin Belar monument and then take another right turn on the road downhill until you get to the Radovna bridge. Cross the bridge and on the left river bank of the Radovna river you will see the Vintgar Gorge entry point. Follow the path, crossing the bridges and galleries on the way until you get to the Šum waterfall – which in turn is also the lower entrance/exit point of the gorge. Take a right uphill turn right after the chalet (signpost). You will soon get to the forest path; at the crossroads with the signpost take a left turn, and go through the woods and grasslands in the south until you reach St Catherine’s Church above Zasip. From there, take the narrow downhill paved road towards Zasip. Pass the first houses and take a left turn downwards (signpost) to get to a walking trail between houses into the village, where you reconnect with the road leading to the Lakeside Promenade in the centre of Bled.
