From Cannero Riviera to Cannobio
The Mulattiera between Cannero Riviera, Carmine superiore and Cannobio is part of an ancient network of paths in the region. After a leisurely walk along the waterfront of Cannero Riviera, we climb up the old, stone mule track to the medieval, car-free village of Carmine superiore. Time seems to have stood still here. In the original village, which goes back to the house castle of a noble family from Cannobio, we can not only enjoy the magnificent view of Lake Maggiore, but also pay a visit to the church of San Gottardo, which is well worth seeing. We then continue to the mountain settlement of Molineggi. Passing the alpine huts of Solivo, we finally descend to Cannobio, where we end our hike with a stroll along Cannobio's charming lakeside promenade.
