Il secondo giorno si parte dal rif. Giacoletti, si procede verso il Buco di Viso attraverso il Sentiero del Postino. Dal Buco di Viso si scende verso il Refuge du Viso (lato francese) e si risale per il Passo di Vallanta, che porta poi all'omonimo rifugio dove si inizierà la discesa verso Castello.
