GE_20 Crocefieschi – Rocche del Reopasso

from piazza Martiri in Crocefieschi (741 m) walk uphill on the paved road as far as the chapel of Madonna della Guardia (768 m). Following the trail sign “empty yellow square” take a mule-track to the right along the western side of the Monte Castello. Then turn left on the path which passes south of the rocks of “L'Anchise”, arriving at Colletto (820, table with benches),a panoramic pass located at the bottom of the spectacular south-eastern pinnacle of Biurca. From Colletto ignore a deviation for the “via ferrata” (it's a mountain route which requires good skills and appropriate alpine equipment) and on the left take the airy equipped path which crosses the southern side of the Biurca, then walk up to a a side of the south-western spur where two pathways from Camarza and Minceto join. You then ascent the steep rocky spur, with some easy equipped climb as far as the top of Biurca Nord (941 m) where a little metal cross stands. From the top you enjoy a remarkable view towards the North (Vobbia Valley) and the mountains of the high Scrivia Valley. On the south-eastern side, built on the rocks immediately below the top of the mountain is the suggestive shelter Bivacco Città di Busalla, mantained by the Gruppo Escursionistico Busallese. To get to the shelter from Biurca Nord you have to go down southbound through quite exposed rocks which require attention. The return trip is along the same itinerary (be careful).
