Keiservarden is must-hike destination when visiting in Bodø area. Keiservarden is 366 m above sea level and it is a perfect place to see Bodø from the air. This mountain is named after the German Emperor Wilhelm II who visited the summit in 1891.
On the Keiservarden’s summit you can enjoy picturesque panoramic views especially during clear days. From here you can see Bodø town, peaks of the mighty Børvasstind mountain range, crystal blue seawater, mountains near the Swedish border and Lofoten islands. Moreover, Keiservarden is a wonderful place to experience the Midnight Sun.
This hike is really reachable for people of all ages and training levels. The way to the Keiservarden top includes trails, paths and stone stairways. There are actually several alternative roads that go to the summit. Overall, this hike is around 2.5 km from the parking to the summit.
