The perfect hike for those who enjoy getting away from civilization, fast. You can walk it on a roundtrip or park a car at Fekjastølatn and walk to the centrum.
There are multiple alternatives to this hike. We have outlined the roundtrip starting in Hemsedal Centre, climbing up the mountain on a gravel road by the river Trøymsåne. When you reach the top you traverse through the small mountain "valley", passing a beautiful lake, before descending to Fekjastølatn. The path along the lake is not clear, just stay on the north side of the water and you should find the path again on the other side. One alternative is to park a car at Fekjastølatn and drive back, or you can continue through the forest and down to Topp20 Geiteberget. From Geiteberget you continue down to the valley and follow the road past Kiwi. Take left after KIWI and follow the river back to centrum.
If you walk the roundtrip, you cross through Hemsedal Bygdetun, a village farm and an open museum in July.
As the hike follows both streams up and down, there are many opportunities to take stunning pictures and go for swims.
Take a swim in the river descending from the hike in one of the many pools to cool down after a long hike.
