One of the less known hikes in Hemsedal from in Kljadalen. From the peak of the Topp20 Buaknuppen, you get a fantastic view over the mountains of Hemsedal and Jotunheimen.
This hike is one of the longer ones in Hemsedal and with that you should not expect to meet many other hikers.
You start your wander into the summer farm landscape of Mørekvam, past Grøndalen. The first 4 km is on a gravel road before you take a right, ascending into the mountains. The hike going up is very steep and expect to take many breaks on your way up. Some parts of the hike up follow a stream called Slurpa that flows down from Nevreskardtjednet. By the lake, you will find a beautiful spot for a break by the emergency cabin.
From the lake, you only have a few hundred meters until reaching the top, which is where you are rewarded with the best views. You will even see Jotunheimen.
If you want to carry a tent you can find many amazing camping spots at the top, making the trip worth the hike up. If you chose to do this remember to let someone know where you are going in case of emergency.
Author’s recommendation
On hot days take a relaxing swim in the lake to cool down after the long hike up. Remember to take time to destress and stretch.

There are some beautiful waterfalls in Slurpa stream. Some that you also might be able to walk behind, you just need to find them.

Getting there
Drive from the Tourist office 4,6 km to Tuv, take right onto the road to Grøndalen and continue until the road ends in Mørekvam. Park your car and follow the marked path. After 4 km the path turns right to Nevreskaret and then continues to the top. You can also bike until the path starts.

Parking past a toll, park on the side of the road.
