Turn-by-turn directions
Here the trail continues above the Thaurer Klamm gorge in the direction of the Törl Schlung gorge. Now you can choose the ascent over the Törl Schlung and then, having reached the top, continue to the right to the Zunterkopf. Or you can turn right at the beginning of the gorge and follow the path in the direction of the Kaisersäule. Today we choose the path over the Kaisersäule, which we reach in about 30 minutes. Behind the Kaisersäule, continue until you reach a prayer mat and follow the trail up the mountain ridge. After another 20 minutes you reach the mountain ridge of the Thaurer Zunterkopf, which is overgrown with mountain pines. The view is tremendous, despite the many higher mountains behind. Bettelwurf, Lafatscherjoch, Wildangerspitze, Lattenspitze, Wilde Bande Steig...to name but a few. On the other side, the view sweeps down into the Inn Valley to the Stubai Glacier and the Zillertal Alps. A true panoramic mountain.
Return the first few metres through the mountain pine zone, then turn right at an iron bar onto a marked path. This leads to the Törl, where you can once again enjoy a deep view of the Halltal. From here there are many descent options. However, there are only 2 ways back to the starting point. Either directly through the Törl gorge to the Thaurer Alm or via the Hobacher Steig with a short return path to the Thaurer Alm. Either way, a stop for refreshments is now due! Then it's a leisurely walk along the forest path back to the starting point!
