This beautiful hike to the Kangilequtaat summit can be done in a day from the outskirts of Nuuk.
The Kangilequtaat summit is a broader ridge with a nice cairn on top. From the cairn, there are views from Sermitsiaq across the inner Nuuk Fjord to Kobbefjord and Hjortetakken mountain. The summit ridge drops very steeply towards the north. If you look along it you can see the first of several shelters that are dotted along the way to Kapisillit.
To start I suggest taking a taxi to the new prison (‘ny fængsel’ in Danish) and walk from there. Alternatively you can take any airport bus and start from there.
