Crossing the Tamadaba Nature Park
On this two-day hike, the Tamadaba Nature Park is crossed from south to north. The nature park is home to the largest pine forest in Gran Canaria, so this hike is correspondingly "green". From the peaks of Altavista and Tamadaba you have an excellent view over the rugged west coast and Tenerife. The starting point of the hike is the agricultural town of San Nicolás de Tolentino on the west coast. The destination is the harbour town of Agaete in the northwest of the island. We spend the night at the campsite in the middle of the nature park (Área Recreativa y Zona de Acampada). The idyllic campsite is located at the foot of the Tamadaba in the middle of the forest and has toilets, drinking water supply and a barbecue area. There are 23 km to walk on the first day and 10 km on the second. Very fit hikers or trail runners can also complete the tour in one day.
