If the Geilohovda hike barely gets your pulse up, continue along this route towards Urundberget mountain at 1,218 metres above sea level. The trail then descends and joins the path along Ustedalsfjorden.
The "arrow hike" is a nice round trip from Geilo. It follows the marked "pilvegen" trail up to Geilohovda, starting by the old ski lift Geilo taubane. Along the trail are several yellow benches, perfect for a little break. From the top of Geilohovda you follow the trail at the edge of the mountain, passing Gullsteinhovda, Verpehovda and in the end Urundberget. The name Urundberget ("Mount Urund") derives from when Chief Urund stood at the mountain and drew his bow so tight the arrow hit Ustedalsfjorden lake far below.
