The course is well maintained and equipped with didactic panels, gymnastic equipment and protective fence in the steepest sections. It winds through woods and meadows of the beautiful hills of Fregona, up to take you inside the famous Park of the Caglieron Caves, an oasis rich in history and emotions formed by a complex of natural and artificial caves.
This conformation is due to the mining activity of "Piera Dolza": easy sandstone processing ("dolza" = soft), used by the ancestors in construction. The path touches 7 main points:
- Breda's Cave
- San Lucio Cave (or of the cheese)
- Gorge
- Santa Barbara Cave
- Grotta of the Madonna
- Borgo dello scalpellino
- Mulinetto
Fregona - Pont de Fer - Caglieron Caves - Pont de Fer - Fregona

It is very important, in the sections of the walkway inside the Grotta del Caglieron, not to lean out beyond the protective fence and pay particular attention to the sandstone conformations that, in some points, invade the path, forcing tourists to move slightly away. It is also essential to always stick to the marked paths, with the help of maps and signs presents along the path.

Turn-by-turn directions
After parking the car near the sports field or next to the cemetery (Piazza Maronese), start on the dirt road that runs along the sports field to the south and, keeping to the right, take the path (signpost 1037B). After a very short stretch in a grove you reach a green space connecting various cultivated properties and, keeping to the left, at the height of a first notice board, you descend along the cobbled path until you cross the Carron stream passing through the "Pont de Fer ". Immediately after the bridge, go straight up until you reach the small hamlet of Breda. Where the asphalt begins, we keep to the right passing behind a house taking a downhill path, until we reach the parking lot of the restaurant below. Here, following the track, begins the path of the Caglieron Caves which will end at the point of return to the wood. The route ends again at the parking lot of the Fregona Cemetery.

Equipment
We recommend equipment suitable for an excursion surrounded by nature. Shoes with heels, sandals, slippers or any type of footwear that are not closed are therefore excluded. On the other hand, we recommend comfortable shoes such as those indicated for tennis, running, hiking in the mountains ... It is also very useful to equip yourself with sweatshirts or raincoats that can be used when the path enters the real caves where, due to the high humidity and the presence of numerous watercourses, small drops falling on the path can be created.
