F46 Way of St. James (Camino) Castet-Arrouy to Lectoure

We set off after a good breakfast along well prepared paths that avoided hard road surfaces, and arrived at Lectoure around lunch time. The market was just closing, but we managed to get some sausages and cheese. However, we were refused entry to a café/bookshop, and the friendly tourist office implied that the owner wasn't friendly to anyone, and recommended a restaurant down the road, where we had excellent asparagus for lunch.and then after looking around the town and church, we had coffee and pain-au-chocolate in a little bakery on the outskirts. To the amazement of a shop owner, who came out to look, it started to snow briefly as we set off again. After a short walk across country, we found our Gite in Espazot, which turned out to be an unheated farmhouse where we were the only guests. Once we had found the lady in charge, we had a nice meal and were given an electric heater to warm up the small upstairs bedroom and eating area, and in fact slept very well.
